Summer hits the high street

With summer right around the corner the high street are launching the first of their new trends. Here is a quick look at what is out there to help kick start your summer wardrobe

Neon Bright’s

Almost every high street store you walk into at the moment will have flashes of neon. Neon is a trend that has been building over the past few seasons and looks to explode this summer. As neon can be quite a scary concept so expect to see a lot of neon accessories as well as lots of neon trimming. Neon is a fun summer trend that is sure to put you in a bright mood!

Pretty Pastels
This will be one of the biggest trends for the summer, it's easy to wear and appeals to a wide ranges of people. This doesn't mean you can't make the trend your own! While the pastel colour pallet easily lends itself to a very feminine look with floaty chiffon's, lace and full skirts it is also coming through into androgynous profiles with shirts, trousers, blazers and brogues all in pastels for summer. The pastel pallet is accented with an underwater theme that we saw emerging on the SS12 catwalks with pastel glitter, sequins, metallic and shimmer effects.

Tropical
Bright, bold prints on black backgrounds, all over graphic prints, animal prints, mish mashed prints and bold colours, this trend is about making a statement. While the tropical trend is certainly not a new one for summer what makes it fresh this season are the black backgrounds and incorporation of animal prints as well as match back prints. With such bold prints the profiles that have come through so far are very basic block tees, trousers and body con dresses and skirts.

Tribal

The Aztec trend that we have seen throughout winter is now moving into summer with bright colours being incorporated into tribal prints. While this trend has yet to fully launch in apparel we can already see a lot of accessories on the high street. Flashes of bright colour are key for summer tribal. For jewellery collars and friendship bracelets will be key with lots of feather and beading in the mix.
